If you’re going to the MLA convention this year, please join the Women’s Caucus for the Modern Languages at two great events.
WCML again brings together the feminist allied organizations at a Cash Bar co-sponsored by Feministas Unidas, the GL/Q Caucus, Women in French, and Women in German. Please join us on Friday, January 10, at 7:15 – 8:30 (Session 418; Metropolitan B, Sheraton Grand Seattle). Come to greet old friends and meet new ones as we celebrate the achievements of the past year and plan for next year during a time when the need for activism is increasingly pressing.
Please also join us at a stellar WCML event, “Being Online: Risks and Rewards for Women in Academe” on Saturday, January 11, at 1:45 – 3:00 (Session 568; Skagit 4, WSCC). This session is designed and chaired by Rebecca Colesworthy, Acquisitions Editor for SUNY Press’s Feminist Theory and Criticism series, and member of WCML’s Executive Committee.
Please bring ideas, suggestions, and good will to both events as we usher in a new year of activism, scholarship, and engagement. Although you are heartily welcome whether or not you’re a member of WCML, please also consider joining us more formally, noting that membership is free for graduate students.
